A Historic milestone

This November, Berlin will commemorate the 35th anniversary of the Peaceful Revolution, a pivotal moment in history that led to the fall of the Berlin Wall and the reunification of Germany. To mark this significant occasion, the city will host a captivating outdoor exhibition, stretching 4 kilometres from the iconic Checkpoint Charlie to the serene Kapelle-Ufer at the Reichstag. As you walk along this route, you will encounter powerful messages and images that reflect the spirit of the Peaceful Revolution, a testament to the human spirit.

The Peaceful Revolution was a powerful demonstration of the power of peaceful protest. It marked the end of the Cold War and the beginning of a new era of freedom and democracy. As we commemorate this anniversary, let us reflect on the sacrifices made by those who fought for a better future.

A legacy of freedom: remembering the peaceful revolution

The fall of the Berlin Wall was not an isolated event but part of a broader European movement towards democracy and freedom. The Peaceful Revolution in East Germany was inspired by the

Solidarity movement in Poland and other democratic uprisings in Eastern Europe.
